Chester Step Test
The Chester Step Test is a simple and effective assessment used to measure an individual’s cardiovascular fitness and aerobic capacity. It is commonly used in occupational health settings to assess fitness for physically demanding roles, including safety critical jobs and emergency services. You may be asked to book a Chester Step Test for your ENG1 Medical if your BMI over 30.
What is Involved?
The test involves stepping on and off a platform at a set pace, which increases in stages over time. Throughout the test, heart rate is monitored to evaluate how efficiently the heart and lungs are working.
